So, after a long week of driving to rehearsals in Denver...success! The first concert of the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado happened last night at St. Paul's in Denver. If we ignore the fact that the church is under construction and has no heat (and bathrooms involve a spooky trek through the innards of a dark basement replete with hanging wires and chunks of rough drywall) it was a pleasant place to play. The best part was the review posted in the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post--find it here:

It's been great to have Debra Nagy out with us this for this concert--finally, I got to sit back and listen to Bach's 2nd Orchestral Suite (arranged for oboe and orch.) rather than stress about playing it myself! And having Tekla play the Telemann Concerto on a real viola d'amore rather than the oft-substituted violin was a real treat.

Ah, Saturday mornings in the Meredith house... This is my usual view as I leave for work. Even the cats can't be bothered to go downstairs when I fill their food dishes! I can't say that I'm too jealous, though--there don't seem to be any worthwhile cartoons on these days to make Saturday mornings worth staying in your jammies until noon. It's a good thing Looney Tunes, 3-2-1 Contact, and all those other "old" TV shows are out on DVD so we'll have something to watch when Katie's older!

So, I'm told that all the cool librarians are doing it--so here goes, my first blog! Right now, I can't imagine anything in my life being so interesting that others will want to read about it...unless I use this spot to post pictures of my daughter. At least that way it'll get daily attention from the grandparents! So, here are Katie and Grandpa in Spokane last week... (In case anyone's wondering about Grandpa's shirt, it's half a "smiley" with the caption "Half a nice day!")
